Lee Brand Biography
Lee Brand attended local elementary schools and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Having served for six years in the California Air National Guard, Lee was honorably discharged in 1973. He gained an A.A. Degree from Fresno City College and a Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Fresno, where he graduated summa cum laude in 1973. He went on to earn a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Southern California in 1974.
Lee is the President and co-founder of Westco Equities, Inc., a property management/construction firm with over 100 employees which he has owned and operated for the past twenty years. Prior to that, he was the owner of Brand & Associates Real Estate for seven years. He also served as Administrator of Kings View Corporation mental health programs in Madera-Mariposa County for four years. Lee has been a licensed Real Estate Broker for over 25 years, a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management and a Certified Property Manager. He is also been a licensed California General Contractor for over 20 years.
Community involvement has been very important to Lee and he has served as a Commissioner of the Fresno City Planning Commission, Chairman of the Government Review Council for the Fresno Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Northeast Fresno Community Plan Review and Implementation Committee, and Chairman for the Ad Hoc Committee to Review the Fresno City Charter.
He has also given his time to a number of local boards including the San Joaquin Political Academy, Fresno Chamber PAC, San Joaquin River Parkway Trust, Arts to Zoo Measure, Greater Fresno Apartment Association, Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Affordable Housing, and the Fresno Board of Realtors PAC. He is a past member of the Fig Garden Rotary and a current member of the Fresno Business Council and Fresno Chamber of Commerce.
Lee has been married to his wife Trish for 29 years and they have four children and one grandchild: Charity, Phillip, Tommy, Emily, and Kylie.
