WATER PRODUCTION & DISTRIBUTION
When water is pumped up from the aquifer, it is distributed through a transmission grid main system to individual customer services. The Water Distribution, Construction and Maintenance are responsible for the construction and maintenance of water lines in the Fresno Metropolitan area and some unincorporated Fresno County areas. Distribution is also responsible for, 1,780 miles of distribution pipeline, 140,992, service connections, 12,952, fire hydrants, and 18,942, main line valves. Water Meter and Cross Connection Control are two additional programs under the Distribution section.
