International City/County Management Association, California consortium (Cal-ICMA) is comprised of the California City Managers’ Department, the California City Managers Foundation, the County CAOs, the COG Directors, and other members of the academic community. Cal-ICMA coordinates much of the professional development and training for local government management professionals in the state.
International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) represents the interests of governmental human resource professionals on the Federal, State and Local levels. They strive to provide information and assistance to today’s HR professionals and organizations through the offering of cost-effective products and services as well as ongoing educational opportunities.
Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) provides today’s human resource management professionals with a comprehensive set of resources and professional support. This partnership allows those HR management professionals to more effectively develop and execute organizational success.
Toastmasters is a world leader in helping people improve upon their leadership skills and become more comfortable and effective when addressing an audience. There are several active Fresno-area chapters, including our own Fresno City Toastmasters that meets in Room 4017 (4th floor) at City Hall every Wednesday from 12 pm to 1 pm. is an agency that raises funds for breast cancer education, screening, treatment, research, and hosts Fresno's annual 'Race For The Cure' event each October. Sisterhood Of Survivors (SOS)
is a non-profit Fresno-based support group that delivers totes filled with educational material and inspirational items to women newly diagnosed with Breast Cancer. This group also meets on a monthly basis to celebrate and support Breast Cancer survivors.
