Holiday Hours Set for City of Fresno Regional Parks
FRESNO -- In preparation for the large number of visitors anticipated at Fresno’s regional parks for the Easter holiday, the City of Fresno will maintain extended hours of operation for Roeding and Woodward Parks on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014.
The entrances to each regional park will be opened and staffed beginning at 6 a.m. The entry fee on Easter will be $5 per vehicle at each location. The parks will close at 10 p.m.
PARCS will have staff on site to assist visitors at the parks. In addition, PARCS will be handing out trash bags and fliers at the entrances asking visitors to help keep the parks clean.
PARCS would like to advise patrons that Fresno’s regional parks are heavily utilized on Easter Sunday each year and will be intermittently closed based on parking availability.
PARCS, together with the Fresno Police Department, would like to encourage all park users to minimize the number of vehicles used to transport family and friends to the parks. PARCS would like to encourage patrons to exhibit patience when traffic slows access to park destinations.
PARCS would also like to remind patrons who plan on visiting Roeding Park that traffic flow, parking and picnic areas around the Belmont Avenue entrance will be impacted due to the Chaffee Zoo expansion construction. However, additional parking will be available just west of the tennis courts off of Olive Avenue.
In addition, patrons are asked to please drive safely and only park in authorized spaces.
