Mayor Swearengin Kicks Off First ‘Shop Fresno’s Finest’ Campaign; Encourages Shopping Local this Holiday Season
FRESNO – Mayor Swearengin today announced that 30 locally owned retailers will be offering discounted gift cards through Dec. 11 to encourage Fresno residents to shop local this holiday season.
The “Shop Fresno’s Finest” campaign, sponsored by the City of Fresno and the Fresno Regional Independent Business Alliance (FRIBA), will launch on Friday, Nov. 18.
“The City of Fresno has made it a priority to promote and support locally owned businesses, and we are very excited that the ‘Shop Fresno’s Finest’ campaign will help us make the most of our efforts this holiday season,” Mayor Swearengin said.
Retailers participating in the “Shop Fresno’s Finest” holiday campaign are Bouquet of Fruits, COCO, Crazy Cowgirl Closet, Deliciously Cute Cupcakes, Dicicco’s Italian Restaurants, Fresno Ag, Gazebo Gardens, Herb Bauer Sporting Goods, Jack’s Car Wash, Jalisco Jewelers, Jones Cleaning;
J’s at Jack’s Carwash Company, Julia Vogue, Lou Rodman’s Barstools and Dining Superstore, Love and Garlic Inc., Milla Vineyards, Not Just Paper, Ooh La La, P*DE*Q, Posh Fresno, Sam’s Italian Deli and Market; The Fresno Ivy, The Grape Tray, The Tasting Room, Twee Boutique & Gallery; Vino and Friends Wine Store and Bistro, Whitie’sPets, Ya Ya’s, and Z Blinds.

FRIBA is a group of local business owners who have joined together to coordinate an ongoing community outreach and marketing campaign to educate the community about why it is important to support our locally owned and independent businesses.
Mayor Swearengin also announced that the third edition of the “Directory of Neighbor-owned Busineses” will be distributed to more than 65,000 Fresno residences through the Fresno Bee on Friday, Nov. 18. Residents can use the directory to shop and dine at more than 1,700 locally owned retailers and restaurants this holiday season and into next year.
