City Parking Division Promotes 'Operation Blue Placard'

With the start of the busy holiday season, parking is at a premium. Starting this Friday, the City of Fresno Parking Services Division will increase their enforcement efforts throughout the holiday season. The goal of this effort is to reduce the number of vehicles parked illegally in stalls set aside for the disabled.

Additional staffing will patrol the major shopping areas throughout the City. This enforcement includes both evenings and weekends.

WHEN: Friday, November 23rd, 2007 through Friday, December 28th, 2007
WHERE: City Wide
WHAT: Disabled Parking Enforcement

Only those vehicles that display a legally acquired placard are entitled to use the specially marked spaces. Drivers are also reminded not to park on the crosshatches painted on the asphalt or concrete next to the disabled stalls. This area is set aside to accommodate specially equipped vehicles with ramps.

The City parking staff encourages all drivers to enjoy the holidays!
