05/17/07  Shuttlebugz Bike Taxis Now Operating In Downtown Fresno
With the Valley coming up on the worst season for air quality, the City of Fresno, Department of Transportation/Fresno Area Express (FAX) has teamed with Shuttlebugz to provide easy and fun transportation in the Downtown Area. The interim pilot program began on Monday, May 14, 2007, in the downtown triangle bordered by Freeways 99, 180, and 41. Shuttlebugz are bicycle taxis that can shuttle people (two to three per unit) around the downtown area. >more

05/17/07  Special Council Meeting Requested to Discuss PGA Tournament
The purpose of the special meeting of the City Council is to meet and consider directing City Staff to return to Council with an amendment appropriating $1.2 million of General Fund dollars for the PGA Veteran’s Champion Golf Tournament. City of Fresno One Call Center proves an effective tool in providing a quick response to questions regarding City services to residents. In an effort to improve services to City residents, the One Call Center was initiated in February, 2006. 05/16/07  FAX Offers Cyclists Free Rides On Bike To Work Day
City of Fresno, Department of Transportation/Fresno Area Express (FAX) is partnering with the Fresno County Bicycle Coalition in encouraging people to try bicycle commuting. On Thursday, May 17, 2007, FAX will offer cyclists free bus fares, throughout the day, on a space-available basis. Bicycling to work is healthy, clean, and fun. >more

Today Governor Schwarzenegger submitted his 2007 May Revision to the state Legislature, outlining proposed changes to his January 2007 budget.
