03/15/06  Application Assistance CenterIs Another “Hot Spot” Success At City Hall
(FRESNO , CA March 15, 2006) – The City of Fresno improves customer service by streamlining application services for city planning and development at the newly created Application Assistance Center (AAC) “hot spot” located inside City Hall. With drop-in assistance available Monday through Friday, 8am till 5pm, applicants filing conditional use permits, site plan reviews, rezoning, tentative maps, variances and other Planning and Development applications now have a centralized, one-stop location where City processing experts are available to help applicants resolve issues that could prevent the timely processing of their application. The newly created AAC saves time and application uncertainty as AAC processing experts review forms, fee schedules, submittal requirements, applicable policies and design standards with the applicant up front. >more

03/13/06  City Of Fresno Breaks Ground For New, Affordable Senior Housing
(FRESNO , CA March 13, 2006) – Mayor Alan Autry along with Councilmember Brian Calhoun share their commitment to caring for senior citizens in a groundbreaking ceremony, Monday, March 13 at 1:30pm, for a new senior housing project; Sierra Gateway Senior Residence. Sponsored by Southern California Presbyterian Homes (SCPH), the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the City of Fresno, Sierra Gateway Senior Residence will provide 146-units of affordable rental housing for Fresno’s low-income elderly. 02/24/06  Airport Registers Significant Economic Impact on the Region
FRESNO , CA February 24, 2006) – In 2004, Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FYI) contributed $857 million in business revenue to the Central San Joaquin Valley according to the first ever economic impact study commissioned by the Airports Department. Effective today, February 1, 2006, residents can call one single phone number, 621- CITY (2489), to report an issue or get information on any department or service within the City of Fresno. FRESNO , CA (January 6, 2006) – Councilmember Tom Boyajian’s Office, the City of Fresno and the Central California Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals are taking a stand against individuals who train their dogs to become vicious. These individuals use tactics like, but not limited to: putting gun powder in the dog’s food, hitting the dog with raw chicken bones and using smaller animals, puppies and kittens as “bait” to encourage the dog to attack. 01/06/06  Zoo Will Close To Allow For “Zoo Blitz”
FRESNO , CA (January 6, 2006) – A multi-departmental workforce from the City of Fresno plan to give the Chaffee Zoo head-to-toe cleaning. Effective Monday, January 9 th, the Zoo will be closed to the public for two weeks as crews paint, pave, trim and repair. Crews temporarily reassigned from Parks, Streets, Facilities, Community Sanitation, and even Airports will arrive at the east gate of the zoo at 7:30am Monday morning. >more
